Crab (30My) Washington State

Superbly preserved crab (Xanthropsis) found in nodular blocks. Prepared in 3 dimensions with great detail. The crab is black and complete with a beautiful pair of front claws.

Hemichordon (550 My) Utah

Spectacular piece. This trilobite is from a species rarely found complete. This one is complete with a very distinctive body parts. Attractive dark-pink colouration 10cm length.

Elrathia Kingi (540 My) Utah, USA

Flat, neat looking trilobite. Grey with distinct markings. Body parts clearly defined.Fossil 1-1.5cm.

Greenops (390My) Erfoud, Morocco

Many specimens of this classic Moroccan trilobite with it's spinose tail section, all well preserved on matrix. Little restoration work. Usually other trilobites in stock - including Phacops, Reedops, Leonaspis and Scabriscutellum.    4-5cm £28

Again, a classic Moroccan trilobite very well preserved, with no restoration work having been needed.

Simple example of a trilobite, usually slightly arched, and removed from matrix. Range in size, but usually around 6-7cm.

Ductina (380 My) Guzngxi Province, China

Small complete trilobites with good 3 dimensional relief preserved as moulds of the original external shell. Sitting on a small block of pale mudstone matrix.

This unusual species of trilobite is preserved as an impression on blocks of dark limestone, often highlighted by a white distillate.

LESMAHAGOW
The area is world famous for it's Arthropod and Fish fossils. Some of the oldest complete fish in the world (Jamoytius)come from this site. Arthropods (such as Eurypterids) are rare here but preserved with fine detail. The area is now protected- these individuals come from old collections and have been recently re-prepared.

Dragonfly (150 My) Solnhofen, Germany

From the famous Solnhofen Limestone, this excellent dragonfly specimen is preserved in fine detail, with wings nicely extended.

6cm in body length £500

This example has been sold, but we can get similar quality pieces from both the Solnhofen and the Santana Formation of Brazil. We have also had lacewings, grasshoppers and cockroaches.
